Useful Books
Like a lot of people once they have been diagnosed with a heart condition they naturally want to know more. For those who are interested here are just a few books I have come upon. All the books on this page cost £10 or less.The Books published by the Britsh Medical Association are great value at only £3.50p or so. All are pretty easy to read and understand without being over complicated.

Fighting Heart Disease Some 190 pages long this is the most in depth book on this list. It covers just about every topic surrounding heart disease. Risk factors, High blood pressure, Angina, Heart Attack, Healthy eating and Medication to list just some of the points covered.
Almost every page has some type of illustration to clarify the text, which makes it that bit more easygoing to understand.
To finsh off with there's a section a the back that has useful contact numbers. These include The British Heart foundation, Bitish Diabetic Association, Action on smoking & health, to list just a few..
I rate this as being one of the best books I've come across, it's easy to read and touches on just about every aspect of heart disease. Priced around £8.99 from good book shops.

Understanding Heart Failure This is one of the many books published by the BMA. It's some 70 pages long but touches on most areas.
It has some nice little sections on some of the test that can be done on the heart. These include Angiogram, ECG, Echocardiogram, and basically outline what is involved in each test.
A good little book to start with, which should be available at most chemists. Priced about £2.50p
